Heather Tuffnell joined the DanceLova Dance Academy faculty in April 2017. A powerhouse dancer with over a decade of training and competitive experience, Heather is a fierce leader passing down her expertise to the students of DanceLova and pushing them to excel as artists.
Heather grew up in Orange County, CA where she danced competitively for 10 years and won many titles for solos and group numbers. She trained in ballet, jazz, tap, lyrical, contemporary, hip hop, and acro/tumbling.
At Canyon High School, she was Vice President of the dance choreography program for 2 years and in the program for 4 years. She was also training under Dance Precision’s teacher training program for 2 years where she began her journey as a choreographer and leader.
Heather attended Mt. San Antonio College where she was a member of the Mounties National Champion Dance Team as well as a member of their dance repertory company for 3 years. In 2015, under the direction of Lee Martino, Heather was a featured dancer in S.T.A.G.E. from Broadway to Hollywood at the Saban Theatre in Beverly Hills. She also danced in The Lyric Project 2015 and 2016 at the Skylight Theatre in Los Angeles.
Heather has been teaching and choreographing dance for the past 8 years in the Inland Empire region and in Orange County receiving numerous choreography awards at competitions. She is currently furthering her knowledge and getting certified in Acrobatics in July 2020 through the Acro Dance Teacher’s Association. Heather’s current focus at DanceLova Dance Academy is coaching for the competitive dance sector of the academy’s educational initiatives.
