Alina Bormotova started her training at the early age of 4 in Kyiv, Ukraine in ballet studio “Kyanochka”, and has since fallen in love with ballet.
In 2004 she did her first big performance – the Nutcracker at Taras Shevchenko National Opera and Ballet Theater of Ukraine. Alina is a Laureate of the prestigious Serge Lifar Ballet Competition in Kyiv, the Terpsichore International Dance Festival of Galicia in Lviv, and received the Kyiv Dance without Borders diploma in 2007.
Alina studied under the direction of well-known ballet pedagogues Alla Nekrasova, Alvina Kalchenko (Honoured Artist of Ukraine), Natalia Khomenko, and Anna Dorosh (People’s Artist of Ukraine). She graduated from Kyiv Municipal Serge Lifar Dance Academy in 2011 with a distinction and joined Dnipro Opera the same year.
In 2012 she was invited to join Russian National Ballet in Moscow under the direction of former Bolshoi Theatre soloists Sergei and Elena Radchenko. She spent 4 seasons as a member of the company, and traveled all around the USA, Europe, Russia, and Asia where performed all classical ballet repertoire including Swan Lake, Giselle, Don Quixote, Nutcracker, Sleeping Beauty, Les Sylphides, Cinderella, Romeo and Juliet, Paquita.
Along with an extensive international touring background, Alina is also a 2015 graduate of the Kyiv National University of Theater, Cinema & Television named after I. Karpenko-Karui.
In 2017 she joined Pacific Ballet Dance Theatre in Burbank, California as a soloist. Her repertoire with PBDT includes the roles of Nina in Masquerade, Mercedes in Carmen, Fantine in Les Miserables. Alina also performed with Pasadena Dance Theatre in the productions of The Nutcracker in 2018, 2019 and 2021.
Recently, she performed with the Contempo Arts Productions in Los Angeles. In addition to dancing, she has been extensively teaching, choreographing, and sharing her knowledge with dancers in Southern California.
